Ecuador

Ecuador is a small country, about the size of the state of Colorado, along the west coast of South America. Even though Ecuador is small, it has an incredibly diverse geography including the Galapagos Islands, the bright and sunny coast of the mainland, the snow-topped Andes Mountains, and the Amazon Rainforest. The cloud forest (different than a rainforest!) alone is known as one of the most biodiverse places on earth.

Quito, the bustling capital city, will be our team’s home base during our time on the ground.

education = hope

Education Equals Hope (E=H) was started by Cameron Graham Vivanco, who previously served as the Youth Pastor of the Episcopal Church of the Advent, in Spartanburg, SC, before being called to full-time mission work in Ecuador.

Education Equals Hope believes that holistic education is a fundamental part of the equation that empowers children and communities around the globe to break the cycle of poverty and impact the next generation. They provide educational support for children, teens, and adults, and work to provide educational resources for entire communities in regions of our world that have suffered from poverty, crisis and natural disaster.

In Ecuador, they work with 17 unique ministry partners. We will likely serve at one or more of these ministry sites during our time on as a short-term team. These partners include Episcopal churches of all shapes and sizes.
