This Week from Mitch
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope and pray that you are well! Holy wow, life is busy. At the church, we are gearing up for Christmas, while at home, the Smith children are prepping for final exams and doing their best to finish the semester strong. For many of our families, I know that this is a busy time of year. Please know we are holding you in prayer.
We are also working to provide some much-needed relief and fun for our families. This Friday night, we will be celebrating St. Nick and St Lucy with a family-friendly meal and some great activities. Children, youth, and parents come and play. With the busyness of the season, don't forget to let you and yours celebrate with some good family fun.
On Saturday, our kids will continue to practice and rehearse for the world's greatest Christmas Pageant, which we will have on Sunday morning at our 10:30 AM service. If you need to get into the season come and watch, come and worship. Finally, on Sunday night at the 5 PM service, things will be quite different as instead of our regular worship, we will celebrate the Festival of Lessons and Carols. It is a beautiful service. I know the choir has worked hard. I am grateful for all they have done.
To you our church, I am grateful for so very much. From the food that we will bring to pass out this Sunday, to the Giving Tree gifts that will be delivered next week, to children who will lead us as we follow a star to the manger, to the generous Christmas offerings and year-end gifts you all have made to the ministries of the church. Together our church is finishing the year strong in service, in worship, in praise, and in thanksgiving. Christmas is near, let us rejoice and be glad.
In Christ,
Mitch
