This Week from Mitch
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Passing out blankets at the 10:30 service last week was, I hope, a once-in-a-lifetime sort of event. With that being said, I am pleased to say the issues have been sorted out and just in time for a lot of fun.
This Sunday we will have a parish breakfast between the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services. I am excited about the grits bar that our volunteers are putting together! I am also excited to have a Sunday where once again at the 10:30 service, we will invite our youngest children to come up around the altar at communion.
At the 5 p.m. Eucharist, we will have the Blessing of the Animals. Friends, this will be great fun and a little bit new. Come learn about St. Francis and bring your four-legged, or winged, slithering, or even stuffed friend to the service. This service will be special as we will also be blessing the K9s and their handlers who serve our community in the Forest Acres Police Department. May God bless them and keep them safe.
Life is busy and life is fun! St. Martin's continues to grow and thrive under the leadership of our vestry and the many volunteers who serve this place. To all of you who help St. Martin's, thank you! Together we make up the hands and feet of Christ in the world. One way we continue to need everyone to serve is through pledging. Please make a pledge to St. Martin's. It helps us to budget; it helps us to work; it helps us to offer the programming that we do. If you have not pledged, now is the time. If you have, please know I am deeply grateful.
In Christ,
Mitch+
