This week from Mitch

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This Sunday is, as you all know, our Annual Meeting. We will seek to do it as well as we can. In fact, we at the office have even done a dress rehearsal. With that being said, please be kind to your church staff, and, most especially, each other. Churches are made up of people who are very tech-savvy and others who absolutely are not, and we will all be online together. Some of us have done meetings online all year long. Others are 92, in a nursing home, and they will be trying to do this for the very first time. I have discovered that we all have a choice. We can choose to be flexible and laugh when little things will inevitably go wrong or someone forgets to mute their mic, or we can be angry. In short, we can choose grace or not.

I had a “Facebook Memory” pop up of last year's Annual Meeting. Although it only happened a year ago, it felt far off. Potlucks like that seem to have taken place a lifetime ago. I miss them and long for them. I know that with continued effort, with continued social distancing, and with mutual respect, one day they will return. I look forward to that day.

As I look back at 2020, I am amazed. We as a church have done a lot. As I look towards 2021, I know there is a mission field ready and waiting for us. People need the Church. Come to the 10 o'clock worship service and hear where we have been and where we are going.

In Christ,

Mitch+
