This Week from Mitch
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Alleluia, Christ is risen!
I look forward to continuing to celebrate the festival time of Easter with you all. Easter Day should always be followed by a period of celebration in which we reflect on God's grace and the gifts of God given to each of us.
I am grateful for everyone who participated in our Holy Week and Easter services. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am also grateful for the leaders of this church who helped us navigate this busy time. From Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, more than 1,000 people came through our doors and worshiped with us. It takes a team to minister to this many people. Thank you!
I am excited this Eastertide to announce that Ronnie Dale Wise has agreed to join the St. Martin's staff as our next Director of Sacred Music. Ronnie's primary responsibilities will be as our organist and choirmaster, as well as assisting with worship planning. He is also tasked with helping strengthen our youth music program, supporting our Say Love worship band and 5 PM worship, and growing our music program overall.
Ronnie comes to us with more than 22 years of church music experience. He has extensive training in choral conducting, including training from Julliard. Ronnie is committed to offering beautiful music and worship to our church, and I personally am excited to welcome him.
Welcoming one means we have to say "thank you" to another. Chuck Wilson has served us well as our interim Director of Sacred Music. He has introduced us in his short time here to different musical styles. He has laughed with us during joyful times, and he has supported us during difficult times. For his ministry we are grateful.
More news will soon come about special receptions for both Chuck and Ronnie, as we say thank you to one and hello to another.
In Christ,
Mitch
