This Week from Mitch

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Today is Veterans Day. It is also the Feast of St. Martin, the patron saint of veterans. To all who have served, and to all who are currently serving, St. Martin's-in-the-Fields is grateful. Thank you for your service.

This Sunday evening, we are going to celebrate St. Martin's Day with a feast. We are going to have a pig and oyster roast. Come and bring a side dish or dessert to share! It feels so good to celebrate with you all again. The party will be in the courtyard and the gym. Beginning at 5:30 p.m. and ending at 8:30 p.m.

The weather looks like it will be excellent. Come and play.

People who would like to help set up tables and chairs are welcome to come at 3:30 p.m. In addition, folks who would like to help with dishes and clean up are welcome to join me after the event!

COVID has forced change upon us, and the development of multiple worshiping communities. We have a Tuesday midday worshiping community, 8 and 10:30 a.m. communities on Sunday as well as a 5 p.m. Sunday community. In addition to this, we have a group that gathers outside during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service and another group that currently participates primarily online. Members from each service rarely see those who attend other services.

Jesus instructs his church to participate in prayer, worship, service, and fellowship. Jesus knew that fellowship is a big part of what binds us together. Come and celebrate St. Martin's Day and St. Martin's-in-the-Fields with us in a spirit of love and joy. It will be fun and a great chance to re-connect with people whom you have not seen in a while.

In Christ,

Mitch+
