This Week from Mitch

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope and pray that you all are well. I am thankful! I am thankful for my God and thankful for the season of Advent. I love preparing for Jesus and invite you to come to St. Martin's and prepare with me. I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for St. Martin's-in-the- Fields. I am thankful for the amazing staff and volunteers who gather each week out of love for both God and neighbor, and, in that gathering, seek to serve our Lord together. I am thankful.

What are you thankful for? Faith, family, friends, health, love?

This week I encourage you to take a moment ... make a thankful list if you need to, and then instead of celebrating Thanksgiving just once, give thanks each day for the things on that list. Living a life of joy requires living a life of giving thanks, a life of gratitude. I encourage you to start with the gift of our Lord and work from there. If you have never done it, having a simple gratefulness practice can do wonders for your outlook on life, your faith, and your mental health. Thanksgiving is a great time to start one. So, what are you thankful for?

In Christ,

Mitch+
