This Week from Mitch

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In this week's Gospel, we will hear again the story of the woman at the well. It's a story of Jesus's love; it's a story of a woman's faithfulness, and it is the story of one of the first evangelists. The woman leaves Jesus and shouts: "Come and see this person who told me all about myself."

Jesus never picks the most likely of candidates to share his story. When he goes into the town, he does not grab the mayor or the leading business people. He picks people like you and me.

As I continue to dive into my Lenten practices, I am spending some time praying this week about how I can better communicate Christ's love, welcome and grace. But, even as I seek to improve how I share God's story, I am comforted by the fact that God does not need or require a perfect person to share the story of Jesus. I am comforted by the fact that each and everyone of us is enough.

We do not need to be perfect to share perfect love. In fact, it is through our imperfections that God's love shines the brightest.

In Christ,

Mitch+
