This Week from Mitch

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In the past two weeks, I have had the honor of representing our diocesan clergy at the installation of two new rectors in the diocese.

The first was Dane Boston, the new dean of Trinity Cathedral. The second was Raphiell Ashford, the new rector of St. Luke's, Columbia.

At both installations, I found myself praying for the success of the new clergy. Their success positively affects us as Christ's message is shared with all, and our success affects them.

I also found myself praying about St. Martin's role in the diocese. We stand as a place that proudly welcomes and affirms all. When we participate in services at the cathedral, we carry this banner.

We also serve as a successful church that seeks to serve all. Our grants through the foundation have long helped St. Luke's and their feeding ministries. For years and years, our St. Luke's Committee has helped serve meals to the homeless who are ministered to by St. Luke's. When we are there, we carry our legacy of service as a banner.

It is stewardship season. When we give to St. Martin's, when we pledge, we support the missions of our church and those whom we serve. We support Christian formation and those whom we teach. And we support the witness we offer of a God who welcomes and loves all. This radical love needs to be shown again and again and again.

In Christ,

Mitch+
