Habitat Update - Weekend 1 recap

“Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.”

We’re doing a Critical Home Repair in partnership with Episcopal Migration Ministries
and Habitat for Humanity of Lancaster! Read the story of how this came to be.

Three ways to volunteer:

  1. Sign up on the poster board in the Narthex after worship.

  2. Contact Bob Bell.
You can find his information in Realm or shoot Caitlyn a message, and she’ll pass it along.

  3. Sign up online.

We had a fantastic — albeit HOT — first weekend working on the house with Habitat for Humanity’s Critical Home Repair program! By the end of Saturday, we completed a major repair on the roof rafters, laid new plywood sheeting where it had rotted away, and re-shingled nearly half the roof!

Thank you to all who have volunteered so far on site and on the lunch crew!

This coming weekend, we’ll be finishing the roof with a small crew. We need 2-3 people comfortable with heights — if that’s you, let Caitlyn or Bob know!

We’ll begin work on exterior wall repairs and siding in a couple of weeks. This work can be done from the ground and from sturdy scaffolding, so if ladders aren’t your thing, that will be your weekend to come help!
