This Week from Mitch

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Holy Week is near, but before we get there, we have some work to do. Come and be a part of it.

First off, this Sunday along with our normal Christian formation classes, all youth 8th grade and above are invited to the Youth Loft to discuss upcoming confirmation classes. To be a part of these classes our youth need to simply come with a sponsor. If you are curious about confirmation, come and see. Official classes will begin on Palm Sunday.

Also on Sunday, after the 10:30 a.m. service, we will have an informational meeting about the Circle of Welcome. We are being asked to help care for a family that made it here through the horrors of refugee camps in the Middle East. I cannot imagine all that they have been through. If you would like to participate in this ministry, please let me know.

On Monday night at 6:30 p.m., all are invited to the MORE Justice Nehemiah Action group. Your voice matters and our collective voice is strong. Please consider being a part of this important evening. More information is below. If you have questions please reach out to David Jones or Caitlyn Keith.

Wednesday night church continues and so does the Wednesday noon Bible study, although it will be taking a short break during Holy Week and the week after Easter as I intend to take some time with my family.

Finally on Saturday, April 1, we are going to have two campus clean up days at historic St. Thomas in Eastover and here. St Thomas is an historic African-American church that has fallen into disrepair. We need some volunteers who are willing to go and help with a spring cleaning. Meanwhile, here, we have planters to fill, pine cones to pick up (I only recently learned how much our junior warden hates them), and general cleaning to do. Easter is coming. I hope we can work to make our house ready for guests.

There is a lot happening. It's great! These things are signs not only of life, but of vibrancy. It is fun to be a part of; it is fun to watch; it is good. If it's been awhile, we have programming and opportunities for everyone. Come and see what you can do. Come and see what you can be a part of.

In Christ,

Mitch+
