This Week from Mitch

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Merry Christmas! As I write this, I am filled with joy and love for you, the St Martin's-in-the-Fields community. You all are a blessing. I look forward to seeing you and worshiping with you at one of our many Christmas service offerings. As we once again welcome Jesus as a newborn king into hearts, minds and souls, let us never forget what he came to do.

We celebrate our Lord as the Prince of Peace. May we be instruments of that peace. We celebrate him as the King of Kings. May we be his servants. We celebrate him as Love eternal. May we remember to love others as we love ourselves.

In love, I offer this note on safety. Please respect our zones and policies. Our Green Zone is mask-optional. It is on the lectern side of the church. It is for folks who are fully vaccinated. The rest of the church is considered a Blue Zone. It is indicated by blue painter's tape on the pews. In the blue zone we respectfully ask that you wear a mask. I am grateful that our church adults are nearly 100% vaccinated, that we have an air exchange system that turns over the air in our church 18 times an hour, and that we have been diligent in our safety. We are back to full capacity with over 400 people safely attending church this past Sunday. Our mutual commitment to health and worshiping together has led to this success.

Finally on a personal note, thank you all for keeping St. Martin's alive and vibrant. Our pledging for the upcoming year has exceeded both 2020 and 2021. Our programs are running over and beyond what they were at pre- pandemic levels, and we are growing. Your love of the Lord and your commitment to this church have led to this success. Again, you are a blessing. As we celebrate Christmas, please know that the Smith family will be giving thanks for each and everyone of you.

In Christ,

Mitch+
